Charles Dickens is considered to be the most important novelist of the Victorian era. Fellow writers praised Dickens’ work for its realism, style, comedy and social criticism. His novella A Christmas Carol is viewed by many to be one of the most influential stories ever written. The story remains hugely popular to this date. His novels, such as Great Expectations, David Copperfield and Oliver Twist, are also still widely read.
The bust is based on the design by Robinson and Leadbeater, producers of porcelain statues between 1864 and 1924.
The bust is also available in a patinated finish. See also Dickens 1 and 3
