Goethe is the most influential German writer of the 18^th and 19^th century. Goethe was not only a writer; he was also a scientist, philosopher, naturalist and statesman. Goethe’s most famous literary works include Faust and Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (The sorrows of young Werther).

The bust of Goethe is a copy of the “Portraitbüste” made by Fritz Schaper (1893).
